The Shepherds’ Story by James McNally

This is a story about two Shepherd children’s search for the new born baby Jesus. The Story begins with a traveling story teller predicting the birth of Jesus in the nearby town of Bethlehem. The children decide to travel to Bethlehem to find the baby. They think that they can see the baby and return to their camp without their parents ever knowing that they were gone.

The Children start off and before long are lost, cold and hungry. They fall asleep and are kidnapped by two ruffians who intend to sell them to slavers. The parents discover the children are gone and begin a frantic search but with no results. Meanwhile one of the slavers has a change of heart and lets the children go. Once freed they continue their search for the baby Jesus.

The story takes a surprising turn and ends with the children seeing the baby Jesus and the parents finding their children. This is a unique and different Christmas story and has all of the elements to make its reading an annual Christmas tradition to be enjoyed by generations of children…and their parents.

Of Ducks, Dogs and Children is a delightful story of three small children who want their father to get them a dog. He has resisted the children's efforts for various practical reasons, but to put a temporary stop to their constant "Can't we get a dog?" pleas, he offers to take them to the county fair. The trip to the fair begins the story of how the children got their wish for a dog. It involves three orphan ducks, a vicious dog fight, a snowstorm, and finally, a happy ending. This is a story that will entertain adults and children alike.

Wee Willie Winkie III by Nancy Wiedmeyer

I always loved hearing nursery rhymes when I was a young girl and one of my favorites was Wee Willie Winkie. I had 3 dogs named Willie, Ozzie and JC and thought about turning the rhyme around a bit using them in my story. So Wee Willie Winkie III is about this old bedtime poem from my dog, Willie’s, perspective.

You may notice some familiar objects in this book from my first book, Grandma’s Brown Chair. Enjoy curling up in your favorite chair with your children to read about Wee Willie Winkie III.
