Note from the Author: I really knew nothing when I wrote my first memoir, My Meteoric Rise to Obscurity, in 2008. I was just a kid and had a lot to learn. That’s why I called it A Very Minor Memoir. Since I’ve lived at least ten more years, this one deserves to be called A Very, Very Minor Memoir.

Flashback: My Memories: Ages 2-19 (1951-68)

I feel I grew up at a good age starting with the last year of the 40's, 1949. Through my observation of time past I figured out that there was a lot of history before "my time" and before one knew it, "my time" came shortly
afterwards. Who knew what would transpire during the next couple of decades? My observation served me well for decades later to remember as many events and personal memories as I could. This was how my book "Flashback" came about. There are still many folks out there who can or will relate to many of my memories I have recorded in "Flashback." I trust there will be many younger generations who have very little clue as to how things were in my "back then." Either way, I enjoyed recording my "Flashback" memories and it is for anyone out there to enjoy reading about "my time" from ages two on up through my nineteenth birthday.

Eleven year old Max Snyder welcomes you to his vivid world of imagination. Max started writing poems when he was eight. 'School' and 'Rebellion' were written during that time as part of his class assignments. The rest of the poems in this book were written during the summer months over the last two years. Max drew the pictures of 'The Autonomous Airship' and 'The Knowing Owl' first, then composed the poems afterwards. One of Ili's passions is painting in watercolor. She loved how whimsical Max's poems were and transformed them into the watercolor illustrations in this book.

Linda Ronstadt: Rock’s First Female Superstar

Linda Ronstadt was born in Tucson, Arizona during the Truman Administration, one year after World War Two ended. She grew up listening to a wide array of musical styles, from Jazz to Country to Mariachi to Opera to early Rock & Roll. At the age of eighteen, she dropped out of college and headed to Hollywood in search of fame and success as a musician. Shortly afterward, she formed The Stone Poneys - a Folk Rock band responsible for the revolutionary and poignant classic 'Different Drum'. After three albums released on Capitol Records, the group disbanded in 1968 and Linda experienced several years of career ups and downs. In 1975, Ronstadt became a superstar with the explosion of Heart Like A Wheel, a shimmering aural masterpiece considered to be the blueprint of the Country Rock genre still in effect today. Linda became the most successful female singer of the 1970s, and, ultimately, one of the most successful recording artists of all time. As of 2014, Linda has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide and has won 12 heralded Grammy Awards including the 2011 Lifetime Achievement honor. 2014 was also the year that she was inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and awarded The National Medal Of Arts from President Barack Obama. Despite losing her singing ability to Parkinson's Disease, Linda Ronstadt continues to influence people with her remarkable body of timeless recorded works. This is her story, penned by writer Mark Watson for the sake of posterity.

New York-Taos: Coincidental Thief

Jamie, Charlie, and their dog, Star, accompany their Uncle Max to New York City to attend a Special Forum on Indigenous Issues being held at the United Nations. While Uncle Max and the other twenty-eight Indigenous leaders meet to discuss the destruction of Earth Mother, Charlie, with the help of his friends, shows Jamie around the 'the city that never sleeps'. In the midst of their first city tour and as they are about to cross Forty-Second Street, police vehicles come from every direction with their lights flashing and sirens blaring. Charlie, Jamie, and Jennifer have no idea the New York Diamond Exchange has just been robbed. After the forum, Jamie, Charlie, Uncle Max, and Star drive to New Mexico to attend The San Antonio Feast Corn Dance and visit family at Taos Pueblo. Charlie wasn't aware that his friend from New York would be found dead in the New Mexico desert. After several hair-raising events, Charlie and Jamie learn the friend was also a 'Coincidental Thief'.

Umatilla: Spirits and Heroes

Jamie, Charlie, and Star join their Uncle Max on a visit to the Umatilla Indian Reservation. They travel to Oregon to surprise Jamie's parents on their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary and to attend the famous Pendleton Roundup... During their visit, they find themselves involved in poaching, murder, and rustling, as well as a three-hundred-year-old-lost treasure on the Oregon Coast. With the accidental uncovering of a drug ring just off the reservation, Jamie, and her entire family, find themselves targets of the perpetrators... Jamie's mom and Uncle Max have a curious ability to understand and respect the 'unexplained' events in our world. One of these 'unexplainable' entities aids the FBI and the Umatilla tribal police in solving cases they find themselves working on together. Spirits and Heroes --or both? Who's to know for sure?

Homer: The Disappearing Man

Jamie Broken Wing and Charlie Two Fires, Native American art students at the University of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, decide to spend the summer painting in Sedona. Their summer turned into an entirely different adventure than they planned on. Human bones found by Jamie's dog, Star, while they were painting on Loy Mesa, led them into incredible events of greed, art, drug dealings and murder. The bones were found in close proximity to an archaeological site and because they appeared old, Jamie and Charlie's Uncle Max was called in as the forensic anthropologist for the Yavapai Nation. Jamie and Charlie both born to the Yavapai Nation were raised in totally different cultures; Jamie on the Umatilla Reservation and Charlie in New York City. Therefore, their perception of spiritual things was very different than that of their Uncle Max. The mysterious appearance of a Kachina throughout the summer took their adventures to a spiritual level. The difference between Tricksters and Fools became obvious.
