Retired FBI agent Ryan Wolter survives an armed robbery at a local restaurant. He has survived other dangerous situations throughout his career, but he knows his luck may someday run out. He writes a letter to his children explaining why he was so secretive when they were growing up and why he hasn’t visited them too often in the last few years. He describes his childhood dealing with bullies and thugs in school and how he eventually pushed back on some of them. As an agent, Ryan investigated the illegal drug problem in the country and learned that the bully who tormented him the most in school had become a drug trafficker. Ryan was instrumental in sending the man to prison. This set in motion a series of events that put Ryan and his family in danger.
