Overview

Set in New England in the 1970’s, Lily tells the story of four women in search of themselves as successful professionals in their respective fields. Opportunities for careers outside the housewife/mother occupation were beginning to be accepted, institutions like marriage for life and male dominated households were being challenged. Women bonded together. Age was irrelevant. What mattered is they supported one another through struggles such as love affairs, rising up with a voice in business, the arts, politics and family relationships and life direction. Universal themes that are still current in the 21st century provide the foundation for the narrative in this novel.
